The Leamon Sound Device (LSD) is a sound creator's dream -- using the familiar

tools of a recording studio, an artist can create sound experiences that are much more

free and interesting than those created using traditional techniques.

To date, I have created a number of "finished" pieces for the LSD. In almost every case,

the pieces were recorded by laying down one track on top of another in succession without

later editing. Part of my intent with this approach is to force myself to pay attention to what

I'm doing, but also it is to enjoy the explorative nature of these first attempts at LSD

composition and performance -- I don't want to be too hung up on making something "perfect"

while there is still so much to uncover about this new medium. Therefore I put "finished"

in quote marks because they are really just beginnings, experiments that I think reveal at

least some of the LSD's unique characteristics.

Just for kicks, I've posted a simple 24-channel piece. It uses a single track spread across

24 different channels with volume manipulation to give the effect of sound moving around

the LSD. (Here's what the volume manipulation looks like.) It's available in Digital Performer

4 format (60MB) as well as 24 discrete Sound Designer 2 (99MB) or MP3 (23MB) files.

Here is a list of other "finished" compositions to date.

In addition to these pieces, I have a number of ongoing projects:
